The curious case of Benjamin Button

“My name is Benjamin Button, and I was born under unusual circumstances. While, everyone else was agin’, I was gettin’ younger… all alone.”When I first saw the trailer for this film, it looked like it could be epic. And it was. What a film. You know what, Brad Pitt impresses me more and more in every movie I see him. It’s easy to get caught up in his fame and hype in the mainstream media but don’t get fooled, when it comes down to it, he’s an amazing actor. As good as anybody I’ve ever seen.
It’s worth seeing this film for the visual effects and the cinematics alone and will surely be nominated for such. But at the heart of it, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button is a film about life; specifically about how love is timeless regardless of age. Seeing Button’s transformation from a little, old, wrinkly boy to a fully grown, youthful man is remarkable and they made Brad Pitt look like he’s in his 20’s at one phase. Apparently Pitt underwent 5 hours of make-up everyday on set before filming.
One of the scenes that I remember vividly was when Button woke his old, ill biological father up from bed in the early morning, dressed him and drove him down to the lake to watch the sun rise and the day start. The visual was visceral and the scene powerful with Button narrating (I’m paraphrasing here) “
no matter how much you may hate it, in the end…you have to let go.”Its a must watch movie,I love it very much~
